Нусхаи чоаи

  On March 9, 2023 in the assembly hall of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (IWPHE NAST) met with a delegation of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XIEG).  The meeting of representatives of IWPHE NAST was headed by the Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Amirzoda O.H. and the delegation of XIEG was headed by the Director of XIEG Institute Professor Zhang Yuanming.

  Director of IWPHE, associate professor Amirzoda O. welcomed guests in the Institute, and then spoke about the directions of scientific and research activities, achievements of the institute and its staff, scientific results and plans for the future. Then the director of XIEG, professor Zhang Yuanming made a report on the directions of scientific activities and prospects for cooperation development.

  Thus, the two sides shared their views on the directions of scientific and scientific-practical research in the assessment of land degradation, hydrological regime of mountain rivers, desertification, drought, climate change, condition of the Aral Sea and its impact on the adjacent areas, as well as support for technological solutions to prevent and combat adverse meteorological phenomena.

  As a result of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the necessity of developing scientific and scientific-technical cooperation between IWLRI and XIEG, especially in connection with further development of joint research in Tajikistan, China and other countries of the Aral Sea basin in Central Asia. As a result, various forms of cooperation were proposed, including: organization of joint scientific seminars and events, organization of field internships and research, training of specialists, development and implementation of joint research projects, publication of joint articles in prestigious scientific journals, etc.

  A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (IWPHE NAST) and a delegation of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XIEG).
