  On the 24th of September 2022, at the meeting of Scientific Council DSc.41/30.04.2021.T.131.01 at the Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems of the Republic of Uzbekistan, head of scientific and analytical division of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Aminjon Abdudzhabborovich Gulakhmadov defended a doctoral dissertation  on "Modeling the climate change impacts on runoff formation and hydraulic regime of the Vakhsh River". 

  The dissertation work was carried out at the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

  Scientific advisors were Dr. Chen Shi (Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Dr. Ilhomjon Ernazarovich Makhmudov (Scientific Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

  The official opponents were Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sovet Khudaykulov Ishankulovich (Head of Laboratory "Reservoirs and their Safety" of the Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems of the Republic of Uzbekistan), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sergey Vladimirovich Myagkov (Research Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Furkat Ahmadovich  Gapparov (Head of the Department "Hydrology and Hydrogeology" of the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Mechanization Engineers.

  Leading organization was the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirza Ulugbek.

  During the work on the dissertation, research on adaptation of global hydrological models and development of a hydraulic model for predicting impacts of climate change on flow formation and regime of the Vakhsh River was conducted.

  On materials of dissertation work 53 works were published, including 26 works are included into international databases Scopus, and also 3 patents of the Republic of Tajikistan on invention were received.

  The dissertation work consists of an introduction, 5 chapters, general conclusions and appendices. The material is presented on 200 pages. The list of references includes 266 titles.

  Dissertation work of Aminjon Abdujabborovich Gulahmadov on "Modeling of climate change impacts on formation of flow and hydraulic regime of Vakhsh river" was presented for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences (DSc) on the specialties 05.09.07 - "Hydraulics and engineering hydrology".
